IGNITE BALLET COLLECTIVE

WHERE PASSION MEETS

COLLABORATION

Our mission is to enrich dancers' lives by offering supplemental ballet training and community performance opportunities. We aim to foster artistic growth and cultivate a deep love for ballet. To ensure well-rounded development, our collective dancers are required to take weekly classes at their home studios in addition to our programs.

  • Why choose Ignite Dance?
We are not a competitive studio. We focus on technique and strive to set our students up for success both inside and outside the studio. We focus on teaching teamwork, kindness and bravery through safe and technically sound dance training in a fun and healthy environment. We hope that our dancers learn valuable life skills as well as great dance technique, and we hope that they are able to carry these skills and lessons with them throughout their lives and positively impact the community around them.
  • How do I register for classes?
All of our adult and youth classes can be booked directly through our website. To register for youth classes click here, and to register for adult classes click here. If you need assistance, feel free to reach out to us via phone or email. We are happy to help!
  • Where are classes held?
We offer both mobile and studio classes. We offer our mobile classes throughout the community in a variety of settings to best serve you. You can find our mobile classes at schools, preschools, community spaces and more. Our home studio classes are held at 8634-A Camfield St, Charlotte, NC 28277.
  • What should my dancer wear to class?
Dress Code for Mobile Dance Classes (at preschools and elementary schools): We encourage dancers to wear clothing that they feel comfortable and confident dancing in. We do not have a strict dress code, but baggy t-shirts and sweatpants make it difficult for instructors to see dancers’ placement and form; this makes it difficult for instructors to provide corrections and ensure dancers’ safety. We request that our preschool and school aged students refrain from wearing dresses and skirts on dance days as well. Sneakers or tennis shoes are appropriate for most classes. Dancers will need both ballet and tap shoes for ballet/tap classes. Dress Code for Studio Dance Classes (Home Studio, ERC and BCC): Please view our studio handbook below with dress code suggestions. If you have any questions about our dress code, please feel free to reach out via email.
  • What if my dancer tries a class and doesn't like it?
We are excited for dancers to try new styles, but we understand that every style is not for every dancer. If your dancer enrolls in a class that does not fit their needs or personality, we are happy to assist you in finding a new class. We will take care of all the paperwork as well, just email info@ignitedanceproductions.com for assistance switching classes.
  • Can I watch my dancer's class?
All of our classes are closed sessions, but have observation windows. At our home studio we ask that students wait outside with their guardians until the start of class because we do not have a true lobby or waiting area. Guardians are able to walk dancers right inside the door at the start of their class time and will be able to see our classes from outside the studio, but we ask that guardians not stand at the windows for the entire class time because this can be a distraction for dancers. At Elon Recreation Center and Ballantyne Country Club there are observation windows, but since we share these spaces with other people, we ask that guardians not crowd the windows or stand and observe the entire class as it is a distraction for dancers and hinders others use of the space. We ask that guardians not enter our dance room/floor for any reason at any time as it is a distraction to dancers and staff. Most of our community sessions and school/preschool classes have a built in day where we invite family members to come watch their dancer's progress. If you are curious about your dancer’s progress, please feel free to reach out to us. We are happy to share updates with you upon request.
  • How do I withdraw my student?
Please fill out the withdrawal form included here. To withdraw from any class or all classes a 30-day written notice is required. You are responsible for the tuition amount for the 30 days.
  • Can you tell me more about the different styles of dance offered?
We are happy to share some more information about the different dance styles we offer. Most of our preschool classes are creative movement based unless noted otherwise. Please click below to read more about each style of dance.
  • I have another question not answered above.
We are always to happy questions as they arise. Feel free to email us at info@IgniteDanceProductions.com or call us at 704-412-1665. For the studio calendar, billing questions, class descriptions, dress-code and more, please view our handbook below.
